Scott Beckman

Trumpet

Scott started his trumpet odyssey playing bugle on Saturday mornings when he was 10 years old in Madison, Wisconsin. Then he tried the french horn in middle school and quickly realized that he did not want to play with his hand in the bell and subsequently switched to the trumpet.

Scott performed in his youth with the Madison Scouts drum & bugle corps with his 4 brothers winning the national championship in 1975.

Scott then graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison performing in every conceivable ensemble. Spent one year at the University of Akron and then moved to the Boston area.

Since then Scott has performed with the Opera Company of Boston, Harvard Chamber Orchestra, Bay Colony Brass, brass quintets, various big bands, small ensembles and Latin bands, plus too many musicals to mention.

He has performed in England, Russia, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Canada, Hawaii and all over New England.

Scott joined the New Legacy Band in 2011 and enjoys wholeheartedly performing in the seacoast area with this group of musicians a bunch of characters no doubt all with a passion for music.
